On the final turn, you can use a mushroom to boost past the mud.
Strategies
Aside from DK Jungle, this might be the best frontrunning track in the game. There's only one shortcut, boost ramps all around to mitigate items, and always has solid ground.
Unless you're looking for shocks, power items should be used immediately. If you try and hoard them, the lead will become insurmountable.
Bob-ombs can be used to trap the beginning S turn, the landing for the first ramp, and the glider ramp.
